Planning Ahead

Our
Story
Planning Ahead started as a simple question during a heavy rainstorm: Why does my backyard keep flooding? I didn't have the answers, and I didn't know where to turn for help. Each storm brought a new challenge, and the frustration of dealing with a flooded backyard without the proper knowledge was overwhelming. But out of that frustration, a spark was lit—an idea that would grow into something much bigger than one backyard.

My name is Keshi Satterwhite, and I'm the founder of Planning Ahead. I'm a community advocate, environmental educator, and lifelong learner, but more than anything, I understand what it's like to feel powerless in the face of environmental challenges. I turned that experience into a mission: to educate, empower, and equip communities with the knowledge and tools they need to tackle environmental issues head-on. Planning Ahead was born to fill a gap I once felt so keenly—the gap between communities and accessible, practical solutions.

Today, Planning Ahead is more than just a business—it's a movement towards resilient communities. We work alongside residents to demystify the science behind water management, green infrastructure, and community resilience. From community-led workshops to hands-on projects, we aim to ensure that no one has to face environmental challenges alone. We believe in the power of shared knowledge and collective action to create neighborhoods that thrive in the face of adversity.

Our website is here to provide resources, share our journey, and invite you to be a part of this growing community.
