Planning Ahead exists to make climate resilience a pathway to community power, not just emergency response. We work alongside residents in historically underserved neighborhoods to help them understand local climate risks, design nature-based solutions, and access the growing opportunities in the green economy.

Our mission is to transform environmental education into economic mobility. We do this by:

Teaching practical climate literacy through hands-on workshops that help families protect their homes from flooding, extreme heat, and rising utility costs.

Building community leadership so residents are not simply invited to the table, but shape local climate decisions and neighborhood plans.

Planning Ahead was founded because too many neighborhoods are impacted first and funded last. We believe the people most affected by climate change should be the ones leading solutions — and benefiting financially from them.
